The Challenge

Research is expensive! Funding is critical for research projects, but it is becoming increasingly challenging to secure a sufficient amount as a stable source of income to move the project forward.

This may be as investors and governments not only find it difficult to gauge the reliability of long term investments in these projects, but they may also fail to understand the reasoning and complexities associated with the costs, as well as the time commitments required for these projects to be successful.

Because of this challenge, many projects either get cancelled or downscaled to accommodate the budget, thereby weakening the strength, effectivity and overall reliability of data from a given research project.

Our mission here at Bio Basic is to challenge this belief that research is expensive and aim to show that research can indeed be made affordable - especially quality research. Therefore our goal is to minimize the cost of research projects as to allow a lab of any size, even one with a shoe-string budget to be able to conduct large credible research projects.

Bio Basic Inc. is a life science research-support company founded in Toronto, Canada - Headquartered in Markham, Ontario and Amherst, New York.

Our History

Bio Basic (aka “Bio Basic Group” and “Bio Basic Canada”) was established in Toronto, Canada in 2004, where it first began with the distribution of its manufactured Biochemicals.

Following its success, from 2008 Bio Basic rapidly began expanding its manufacturing facilities to include oligonucleotide, gene and peptide synthesis, DNA sequencing, as well as several lines of laboratory plasticware and molecular biology kits.

From 2009, Bio Basic further expanded its service line by introducing protein purification and antibody synthesis to compliment its existing products and services.

In 2010, Bio Basic opened its headquarters in New York, United States (aka Bio Basic USA) to meet with the demands in the US Market.

In 2015, Bio Basic aquired NBS Biologicals Ltd. in Huntingdon, United Kingdom, to expand into the UK market.

In 2016, Bio Basic aquired Optimal Biotech Pte Ltd. in Singapore, to meet with the demands in the Asia market.
