Terms and Conditions

Below are our terms and conditions for our peptide synthesis services. Please click here for our general terms and conditions. Terms and conditions are subject to change.

1. Scope and Applicability

These Terms and Conditions govern all custom peptide synthesis services provided by Bio Basic Inc., including standard peptide synthesis, modifications, libraries, pools, pharmaceutical-grade, and GMP peptides. By placing an order, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms.

2. Orders, Deliverables, and Payment Terms

Orders require a valid Purchase Order (PO), credit card number, or successful WIRE transfer to proceed. Bio Basic will deliver the synthesized peptide in protective casing accompanied by quality documentation, including analytical test results (HPLC and Mass Spectrometry data) and a solubility sheet. Payment terms are Net 30 days from receipt for POs, credit card and WIRE transfers must be processed before project initiation.

3. Project Stages and Cancellation Policy

Customer order cancellations are governed by project stage:
• Pre-Initiation: Customers may cancel without penalty if laboratory work has not commenced.
• Mid-Project: If peptide synthesis and purification have been initiated, the customer may cancel but is obligated to pay cancellation and penalty costs (minimum of 50%) proportional to the stage and status of the project.
• Completed: If synthesis is complete, the full amount is due. .

4. Best Effort Basis, Synthesis Failures, and Partial Order Completion Billing

Peptide synthesis is an intricate, custom process involving unique chemical and sequence complexities. Bio Basic operates strictly on a best-effort basis and does not guarantee successful synthesis for every challenging sequence (such as hydrophobic, unusually long, heavily modified, or structurally complex peptides). In the event of synthesis failure or partial completion:
• Non-Refundable Fees: Applicable setup and startup fees are non-refundable (50% of order total).
• Partial Order Completion and Obligation to Pay: Many peptide orders comprise multiple individual peptides, pools, or libraries intended for a single, broader experimental project. If Bio Basic successfully synthesizes and delivers a portion of the peptides within an order, the customer remains fully responsible for paying for that successfully completed portion. Even if the customer requires the complete set or entire order of peptides to execute or finish their downstream research project, partial completions will be billed proportionally to the work successfully executed, and the customer is financially responsible for paying for all successfully completed items.

5. Limitation of Liability and Grant Exclusions

Bio Basic's total aggregate liability for any claim relating to a peptide order shall be strictly limited to the total amount paid by the customer for that specific order. Bio Basic shall not be liable for consequential or indirect damages and cannot be held responsible for the terms, milestones, or financial penalties of any research grants, institutional funding, or project deadlines.

6. Turnaround Time Estimates and Biological Unpredictability

• Custom Nature and Behavioral Unpredictability: Peptide synthesis is a highly customized service where turnaround time (TAT) is inherently difficult to predict. The chemical and biological nature of individual peptide sequences—such as secondary structures, aggregation tendencies, hydrophobicity, or unexpected coupling difficulties—can significantly impact synthesis and purification timelines. It is frequently challenging to predict precisely how a given peptide will behave during synthesis until the process is actively underway.
• Non-Binding Estimates: Any turnaround time estimates provided by Bio Basic (typically 10–20 business days) are projections offered in good faith for general guidance only. Bio Basic is not strictly bound to any estimated turnaround time. While our expert team will always do their best to meet projected timelines and provide regular progress updates, we assume no financial liability, penalties, or responsibility for production delays arising from the unpredictable chemical and biological behavior of custom peptides.

7. Inspection, Customer Quality Testing Liability, and Claims Policy

• Customer Inspection and Testing Responsibility: Customers are solely responsible for inspecting shipments promptly upon receipt for physical damage, quantity shortages, and correct product identity. Furthermore, the customer is liable for completing their own quality control or verification tests on the received product to ensure it matches their requested specifications and standards prior to any downstream use.
• Downstream Usage and Troubleshooting Liability: If a customer utilizes the peptide in downstream experiments, or if the ordered peptide cannot be successfully used, applied, or integrated into their downstream assays or projects, Bio Basic is not liable for troubleshooting, nor will Bio Basic be held responsible or financially liable to pay for any troubleshooting experiments, secondary testing, or associated assay costs.
• Evidentiary Proof for Replacements: Any claims regarding sequence identity, purity discrepancies, or requests for replacement peptides must be submitted in writing within three (3) months of shipment. All claims and requests for replacement peptides must be accompanied by verifiable evidentiary proof generated using the unmanipulated peptide directly as provided by Bio Basic, tested in accordance with standard analytical methods. Bio Basic reserves the right to refuse handling claims or disputes submitted after the 3-month window or lacking proper evidentiary documentation.

8. Research Use Only and Confidentiality

All peptide deliverables are strictly for scientific research purposes only and not for human or animal consumption. Both parties agree to maintain strict confidentiality regarding project data and pricing.
